My favorite nostalgic treat. Hmm, I can name a few. I used to love those red licorice pipes as a kid. My grandmother used to send them to me from the general store she used to work at, along with "flying saucer" candies. I also used to love Mr. Softy coming around with dipped iced cream cones. Those were the BEST!
ReplyDeleteI miss Smarties! Not the powdered candy kind (which I am currently addicted to), but the chocolate ones which came in a tube.
ReplyDeleteFresh baked pie. My grandmother always made pies for each grandchild (there were 17 of us total!). It was always so special to have my own decadent dessert, in my favorite flavor. Pies always make me think about my grandma and her love for all her family!
ReplyDeleteohhhh, the divinity candy my grandmother used to make~ or maybe it was the Party Mix~ thankfully I still have her "secret family" recipe~!

I get warm fuzzies every time I think about my grandmother's homemade ice cream! The container that went in the freezer was tiny but that stuff tasted like heaven...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is chocolate old fashioned doughnuts. They were a Sunday treat when I was a kid and my fiance's favorite too. So that is why we are having them at our wedding!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is my grandma's three layer chocolate cake! Nobody does it like her!

ReplyDeleteMy gramma's vanilla pudding with strawberry sauce, hands down. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a push-over for old fashioned lollipops and candy buttons - even though you ended up eating a lot of paper. And believe it or not I'm a huge fan of Jordan Almonds because I'd only ever get them at weddings!
ReplyDeletekrispy kreme donuts. i love them. they remind me of sunday morning when my dad and I would go get a dozen to take to church. I would get to watch them come down the conveyor belt and plop them in our box. They are fluffy heavenly treats from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to make amazing apple-cinnamon cookies right around christmas. So amazing!
